Vandalism Laws Fail To Stop Graffiti Vandals In Australia

Unless you are out and about with your eyes shut you would see all this graffiti at the gold coast and it's becoming a problem. Concil property is getting vandalised by graffiti, which was common everywhere, but now private property and even homes are getting hit on the gold coast by these graffiti taggers, bombers and "Artists" or whatever they want to call themselves.

Do you know what the legal penalty is for getting caught vandalizing public or private property with graffiti in Australia? About a $200 dollar fine.

Do you think that a $200 dollar fine would stop these graffiti vandals from defacing and degrading public and private property? I think not!

The graffiti vandalism at the gold coast is becoming a huge problem with more and more graffiti appearing on walls, pavements, trains moving busses, train stations and now private properties and businesses are also targeted by graffiti artists.

Is this graffiti problem inAustralia ever going to stop?

Not likely if the government and public does not step in and does something about the issue. We need tighter laws to govern the sale and holding of Spray Paint Cans and spray painting equipment. We need tougher penalties imposed on these graffiti vandals when they get caught, maybe a prison sentence or juvenile detention could be the answer that would scare these vandals from destroying public and private property here in Australia.

To make the matters worse, there is a new plague of vandalism here at the Gold Coast, the vandals are now scratching their initials and tags in to windows of busses, front windows of shops and businesses, and bus stops, ETC. Any property that is not well suprevised day and night is now a potential target of these vandals that just can not help themselves.

Why are these vandals spraying graffiti on public and private property? Art? Claiming "Their Territory" ? or just being plain destructive for the thrills of breaking the law and risk of getting caught?

Whatever the reason is behind the motivations of these graffiti vandals in Australia and increasingly on the Gold Coast, something needs to be done about this problem as soon as possible, it's either our government steps in and impose tougher penalties on public and private property vandalism, or I have a feeling that public will turn Vigilant and start punishing these graffiti vandals on their own terms in atempt to protect public and private property from this Graffiti Plauge on the Gold Coast, this vandalism is just becoming too much.

These graffiti vandals can purchase spray cans and equipment from general stores and automotive stores very cheaply and there is a no doubt that most of them simply steal the spray cans from the stores.
